2002 Monte Carlo v6_What causes the fuel gauge not to work inside of the car?--something happen last year when the dealership changed my fuel pump. When I first start up the car it goes to the Full line and stay until almost empty and immediately fall to the empty line...or if I'm at a red light for a long time the needle will drop to empty even though the car is full of gas.

if it worked correctly before you had the fuel pump replaced, then it is the fuel pump module. the fact that you have waited so long to address the problem will be a problem. the warranty has long since expired and will fall on you unless you can prove your case. the time factor will work against you.
