if i got another drive shaft would my car be fine

    It depends on what caused it to fail in the first place. Most driveshaft failures on rear wheel drive vehicles, is caused by a failed universal-joint.

    When a u-joint fails, it can also take other parts with it, like the slip joint at the transmission, or the yoke on the rear axle.
