2005 Ford Mustang GT Q&A

2005 Ford Mustang GT Question: what can cause a ticking noise from the engine?

ticking sound coming from the top of the engine on the right side, during idle, and gets louder at accelleration! -
Answer 1
First things I think of are an exhaust leak where the manifold connects to the cylinder head, and a valve lifter or camshaft problem making noise under the valve cover. The exhaust leak is easy to find if you listen carefully under the hood, maybe using a piece of tubing in your ear to pinpoint the source. If the noise is from under the valve cover, it's most likely a cam or lifter problem.
