Question: What all would need to be repaired on my sable that has been sitting for 4 year?

 Rookie

I have a 2000 mercury sable that has been sitting without being cranked for almost 4 years. I am now in need of a car and would like to know what has to be replaced/repaired, other than the battery, for me to be able to drive it again. If anyone has an idea to the minimum to max repairs it may need, I would appreciate the information. I am trying to decide if it is worth the money to repair or if i should use the money to buy another car. Thank u for any information!

    First check the engine oil, coolant level and transmission oil level. Visually look for signs of any rodent damage or nesting and damage to wiring or coolant hoses and belts, then put in a battery first start up the engine (don't rev it up but keep it idling until it gets warm)
    After the engine has warmed up fully release the brake and drive it gently for a while if the brakes feel fine. I would bring it into a shop familiar with Ford and get them to change the engine oil and filter and get them to inspect the car prioritizing repairs and maintainance necessary
