my car ran smooth , took it to mechanic for routine maintenance. was told water pump is starting to leak. water pump,timing chain and tentioner was replaced....now my car makes a rattling noise. mechanic said its the tentioner and the noise will go away in a few days. is this true.noise is still present

No, the noise won't go away if a few days. There is a special way to load (pump up) the hyd. tensioner on these engines, if it wasn't done right it won't pump up. This leaves a ratteling noise were the chain guide slaps against the tensioner. He will need to go back inside the engine and load the tensioner to repair.
