Dodge Ram 2500 Problem Report

Dodge Ram 2500 Water Leak Due to Faulty Rear Window Seal

(49 reports)

On some models a void in the rear window seal may cause a water leak. Water may be present on or under the carpet. The seal will need to be replaced if that is the source.

My 2008 ram 1500 rear window leaks. I have had dodge fix this problem 5 times. Twice they put a new window in, & its leaking worse than before they ever touched it. I have now got corporate involved. Its ridiculous that a window company cant install a window correctly after 5 attempts. I cant pee as fast as its leaking in. Im furious & checking into a lemon law. -
Rear window is leaking. Majority of water is on drivers side pooling in storage under rear seat. dripping at center of rear window onto the rear seat. -
I had to put 2010 because there isn't a 2014 option my '14 rear window leaks like there is no window there at dealer says it is a problem with the primer not being compatible work the window seal glue. Yoy would think they would learn by now!! -
Poured last night and found that my 05 Dodge Ram 2500 rear window leaks, also found this a very common problem, Dodge assume's no responsibility and denies it's a common issue' After a Google search I find hundreds of post's with the same issue. -

Water leaking in the bottom right side of sliding window seal. No way to fix it unless I replace the entire window -
Water present in the rear carpet and under the rear seats after heavy rain; both driver and passenger side of vehicle. I have cleaned this up twice including removal of the rear seats and installation of an air mover/fan for several days to dry the vehicle out. I had to use mold and mildew remover at each clean-up. I have not been able to identify the source of the leak. Getting ready to replace the rear window seals thanks to this forum. I now have 100K miles on the truck. -
Window was replaced due to it breaking. I am on my 5th rear window and it still leaks. 3rd brake light has been replaced along with its seal with all OEM Chrysler parts. Cant keep carpet in the truck as it will mildew. To say Im disgusted with Dodge and my glass installer is an understatement. -
I have a Ram Laramie with a sliding rear window. Each time it rains now I find puddles of water under the rear seat. There are two storage pockets under the rear seat. I could not the source of the leak until I talked to several people with the same problem. -
Leaks and settles under left back seat -
noticed storage area under rear seat, on passenger side, was wet. dried it out- got wet again after a rainstorm. the material behind the seat is wet- so this is coming from the window. do not have a slider -
first time noticed while driving passenger in rear seat passenger side had rain water pouring on them while driving in a rain storm ,now water is in storage bin on driver side parked on a level driveway -
Same as others are reporting. Has been raining for three weeks here in California. Rear seat wells just keep filling up. Maybe since the truck is 8 years old the rear window seals are dried out ? Unable to see where the leak is coming from though. I can feel dampness up the back of the carpet but can't see where the seal has failed. Other long-term problem is the constant cupping of the tires despite religiously rotating them. Dealer told me I needed new shocks, ball joints and tie rod ends.....kind of weird that the truck had a recall on it back at 10,000 miles because Dodge said they forgot to put grease in the ball joints, drag link parts and tie rod ends. I brought it to Dodge and they said they replaced the parts. Wonder if they really did ? Unfortunately the metal Ram decal has disappeared also....I guess the glue dried out or somebody pried off the metal decal. Had to tighten up the driver and passenger sides hand holds....guess Dodge workers forgot to tighten those screws at the assembly line ? The radio only pulls in a couple of FM radio stations....Guess they put in a cheap radio thinking customers will buy the XM/Sirus feature.....I didn't go for it. Other kind of weird thing is this expanding blemish on the right passenger side headlight lens cover. Maybe there is moisture or mold growing in there ? Well, I guess it is jus a Dodge after all.....can't expect too much from bailed out company. Nice looking truck...has been reliable accept for above..... but don't think I will be a return customer. -Rob in Livermore, CA -
2003 Ram 2500 Quad Cab. Mine leaks on the front pillar on the passenger side, and pools on that corner of the headliner as well as dripping onto the passenger seat. It also leaks on the second pillar on the drivers side. Water runs down inside the pillar and pools between the front and back row of seats. What stumps me is I cannot find ANY obvious entry places for water - even after taking all the seals off. -
I also have a 2014 that I have had less than a week. Water leaks in the back of crew cab and pools under seat.also front winshield leak. The front lights have moisture inside also taking back to dealership today. -
