Rings shot, water flowing noise could be bad speaker or debris in the HVAC box. Check engine light could be anything. The end of the month is coming, trade it in for something less expense to maintain.

It all depends on how many miles on the car, the check engine light will possibly provide a clue to the problem, white smoke from the exhaust could be a failing head gasket or something less costly, recommend take car to Holland Service for an evaluation. Ask for Dick he will help you. 650 343 4235
