I have a 2004 Ford Taurus. Afte a recent downpour my passenger side floorboard was soaked. As I went down the road I would turn the defrost on with cool air. Water would drip out from under the dash on the pass. side onto the floor. Had trouble with the car stalling out. Then it would start right up. I know the cabin filter is there. And the computer sits right under that. Wonder also if water is getting in the blower motor causeing a short. Have spent $1600 dollars chaseing this trouble. Sure could use some thoughts on this problem

It sounds like you will have to disassemble your computer for the engine and make sure that there is not any water or condensation inside.
Then you will have to do the same for your fuse panel and relays. There should be some codes for the stalling problems so that should be fairly straight forward.

Thanks, but I've done that. The code has said all 6 plugs misfireing. (think I got a better chance of hitting lotto than that). Replaced all 6 plugs when this first started. Anybody heard about water problems on this model. Have done what ford has recommended. Think I need to get the water first. Then go from there. Thanks again

we have the same problem with the water and have been battling it since we bought the car new. We took it to Ford to have them fix the leak several times and they told us it was fixed each time we found it wasn't. I have not gotton it fixed yet, but I can tell you that there is a tray with a deflector that covers the top of the cabin air filter, this tray seems to be to route the water that comes down the windshield away from the cabin air filter, and to some type of drain down inside the fender. It may be that the water deflector is out of place and the water is getting in behind it or it may be that the drain down below is plugged and the water is filling the area and backflowing into your heater, out through the blower motor, and on to your floor. There are several clips that hold the louvered cover that is over the cabin air filter , if you remove them and lift the panel out you should be able to see the deflector, and if you pour water down the windshield, while you have it uncovered you may be able to find your problem. Good luck
