Question: wasn,t my timing chain at all

do u know that a Suzuki XL7 has 5 timing chains? my mech took me back to show me what was wrong with my SUV , turns out my timing chains was all good, it was a few of the rubber guides that was worn out and the main timing chain was hitting the metal where the guides was suppose to be and making the noise, THANK GOD for a honest mech, soon my SUV will be home

    Great News! hold on to that mechanic. However you know that not all mechanics are bad. I pride myself as a honest one too, and don't sell anything you don't really need. Many of today's engines have more then one timing chain, and plastic guides. It is very expensive to replace all the parts and should be done on a case by case method. At times it is cheaper to replace all things in that area, then it would be to keep paying labor to go into the engine several times, to replace one piece at a time.

    ohh I bet thier r plenty of honest mech, just when I was looking for one they all was telling me I need a new motor and for some reason since my SUV was not smoking and had plenty of power I just didn,t belive my motor was blow, ever this one said it was my timing chain untill he got in there and find the missing guides, but he did say this was the hardest SUV he has ever work on and would hate to work on another
