Volvo will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning January 28, 2004. If you are experiencing a fuel leak and/or fuel smell, or you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It's helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) when you call.
Due to inadequate welding, a fuel leak may develop from the fuel rail. A fuel leak always increases the risk of a fire. Dealers will install a v-clamp to the fuel rail to correct this concern. The Volvo recall number is R128.

Summary: ON CERTAIN SEDANS AND STATION WAGONS, THERE MAY BE A FUEL LEAK FROM THE FUEL RAIL DUE TO INADEQUATE WELDING.
Consequence: FUEL LEAKAGE IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE COULD RESULT IN A FIRE.
Remedy: DEALERS WILL INSTALL A V-CLAMP TO THE FUEL RAIL. OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN ON JANUARY 28, 2004. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT VOLVO AT 1-800-458-1552.
