how do i open roof manually on c70 convertable it wont move when cranked manually after unlocking so how do i access storage area its been scanned needs one motor and one sensor

    I used to work at the Volvo dealership on these cars and I don't remember being able to always crank open the top, especially if a motor is bad, because the gear set is being held by the motor. You may have to remove components until you can get access to the motor and sensor. By the way, you WILL need a Volvo scan tool to re-set the adaption, or the top may mangle itself, when it tries to operate with the new motor and sensor. Repairing these tops was often an 8 hour + job, they are complex.

    hi thanks for your info my problem is now the top is up and locked and i cant crank the lid up how do i access the internals

    From what I have found you can't. The switch that unlocks it stripped on mine and there is a cable that goes into the mechanism that locks the deck lid down.I used a screwdriver on mine. You have to put it in where the cable runs into the lock mechanism at the back.Push the cable to the left and it should unlock the deck lid. Hope this helps the top on mine has driven me nutts.
