What Should You Do?
Volkswagen will mail the updated information to customers with the incorrect manuals. If you don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer. It’s helpful to have your vehicle identification number (VIN) handy when you call. The Volkswagen recall number is 56.
This required information was left out of the owner's manual: "If the dashboard mounted airbags were to deploy, any objects placed on or near the airbag could cause injury to the vehicle occupants." Volkswagen will mail an insert containing the required airbag warning to correct this omission.
