Volkswagen Recalls 1991 Jettas Due to Brake Hose Issue

Volkswagen has recalled certain 1991 Jettas because the front brake hoses installed on some vehicles were of insufficient length. These hoses could stretch and develop cracks, which may result in loss of brake fluid, pressure, and braking ability. Dealers will replace both brake hoses.

Summary: FRONT BRAKE HOSES OF INSUFFICIENT LENGTH WERE INSTALLED IN SOME VEHICLES. THESE SHORT HOSES COULD STRETCH AND DEVELOP CRACKS.
Consequence: THIS COULD RESULT IN BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE, WITH LOSS OF FLUID PRESSURE AND BRAKING ABILITY.
Remedy: REPLACE BOTH BRAKE HOSES.
