vibrations on 2003 Ford Escape

When my car is going full speed it is fine, however just recently when I start slowing the engine shakes a bit. Not sure what this could be. The check engine light is on, but was hoping to find some answers before spending hundreds of dollars.

Unfortunately it's hard to say what the repair will cost without knowing the trouble code stored in the computer's memory. A shop will need to scan for the code(s) and they start their diagnosis from there. This could be an idle control problem since it sounds like it runs fine once you're driving down the road but that is pure speculation. hope this helps!
