Vent control selector rotary knob no longer controls anything when selected. on 1999 Toyota Camry

The air comes through the cabin vents regardless of the knob position.

Makr sure knob not stripped on the inside where it fits onto shaft.

Thank for the reply, the knob is not stripped it click plus I took it off. will soon take it off need to see how it is connected.

Drop the glove box, see if you can see slector lever. If so try to move it by hand. Dont force it just help it as you change slector(maybe). Good luck.

You may need to replace resistor. It is located next to the blower motor. To access it, you'll need to remove the glove box).
