2003 Honda Civic Question: Vehicle over heats

I have a 2003 Honda Civic, I notice that it only takes a few seconds for my vehicle to warm up to normal. I can drive my vehicle for approximately 30 miles before I can see that it starts to over heat, once I exit the freeway it jumps all the way to the top. I have replaced the thermostat twice, just replaced spark plugs and had oil changed, not milky. No leaks found. My concern is what can make my vehicle reach normal temperature in just seconds. I can drive the vehicle sitting from over night and reach the normal temperature in under 5 minutes, no white smoke or anything

    Is it actually overheats, steam coming out, etc... or only the gauge shows you this?
    The temperature sender might be bad.
    I'd hook up a diag. computer and monitor the temperature through the ECM, since it has a different sensor and compare it to the temp. gauge's reading. If the temperature raises normally from the ECM and very quickly at the gauge the sender might be bad.
    You can check this: squeeze the upper radiator hose with your hands, rev up the engine and see if pressure builds up in the hose quickly - if not, the water pump won't circulate the coolant correctly.

    Yes the vehicle actually over heats, I was told maybe the head gasket, but oil looks clean, there is no smoke coming from the back. I do have to replace coolant but I believe that coolant that is beeing replaced its because its kicking it back up from reservoir. But why will the vehicle reach normal temperature in less than five minutes

    It's possible that the coolant won't enter to the combustion chamber (therefor no white smoke from the exhaust), however the combustion gases enters to the coolant system through the faulty cyl. head gasket. It could be easily diagnosed by a tester, which checks the coolant for CO2. If the blue fluid in the tester turns to green there is a head gasket problem.
    In this case the very hot combustion gas (exhaust gas) will heats up the coolant fast.
    Don't drive it in this condition. Get it repaired before more problem occurs, it just gonna gets worst.
