Question: van keeps overheating only seems to happen when idling

 Rookie

We have already replaced the thermostat and fuses for the fan. when it first started there was a terrible smell like something was burning up. then shortly after that it started smoking and boiling over. Already took it in and they said it was the fan fuses. Can't afford to keep guessing and not sure what to do from here. thanks

    Do the rad. fans come on when you turn the A/C on (engine running)?Is the thermostat OEM spec. ? Is it in the proper direction? If you relieve the pressure from the system then put the cap back on and start it , does the system build pressure rapidly and does the top hose feel like it has bubbles going thru it?
