Question: valve adjustment details for 94 3ee

What do the gaps need to be for a SOHC 1994 3ee on intake and exhaust adjustable valves? is it 8 all around? also is that hot or cold? i set them to 7 cold and im still having noise when throttle. sounds like a deisel...

    intake: 0.008 thousandths exhaust: 0.008 thousandths This is for 94 toyota tercel 12valve SOHC engine block marked 3EE . Adjust valves to this even if you
    rebuilt the motor. After engine is running and you set your valves warm engine up
    to normal running temp t-stat open then recheck . It should be the same.
