hi,i have a 90 cadillac brougham with a 5.7 liter and i think i have a vaccumm problem,i checked the egr vaccum hose that goes connected to it and has no vaccum,could it be the canister,and also i noticed that my tranny id shifting from od to drive lately,could this be the same problem,i appreciate your help,thanks

    The EGR hose will usually not have any vacuum until the engine is at least 1500 rpm and the wheels are moving. The computer controls this with an EGR vacuum solenoid. I would check all the vacuum hoses with the under hood vacuum label. The shifting ( OD - drive-OD- Drive) is your Torque Converter Clutch which is controlled by the computer as well, not vacuum.
