There's a engine coolant temp sensor that the PCM uses for the monitoring of the engine temp. Then there's a engine temp for the coolant temp that moves your temp gage. What is the problem with your truck????

Go to www.alldatadiy.com to get the info. If your not willing to spend $26.95 for a whole year of factory info on your car than you really don't want to fix it yourself.

Driving this car will cause damage. I'm assuming you do not have the funds to get it checked out by a PAT.

Whatever the problem is you should have the computer scanned. Not with just a OBDII generic code reader but a full enhanced scanner.

I'm assuming you mean the check engine light is flashing??? More info needed to help. You need to get codes pulled free at a auto parts store. Need codes to help. Previous repair is probably not related to present problem.

Question Answered:

On the back of the engine block. If your freeze plug/plugs on the back of the engine are leaking you can be sure the rest of the freeze plugs in the engine are not far behind. Where I live I recommend a cooling system service once a year to my customers. If you service the cooling system when you are supposed to you wouldn't have freeze plugs rusting out.

There's no way any help can be rendered without a more definitive area of what is leaking. To many variables that can leak oil. Please make sure you keep oil in it, if you don't you won't have to worry about the oil leak.
