Question Asked: Why would I get no quick responds to pushing on the "gas" pedal.
May 26, 2014, 07:11 AM
After driving on highway approx. a hour my diesel sometimes does not respond to me pushing on the pedal. If I let up and push again it responds. Always after highway driving and has only just started this. Not everytime I drive it. OEM lift pump, everything. Could I have a pump going bad. Just ordered a performance pump. only have 60000 miles on truck. Sat for long time but have put thousands of miles on in last few months.
Question Asked: Should I replace the stock fuel pump and injector pump on my 2002 diesel
April 03, 2014, 04:09 PM
I'm reading a lot on the need to replace the stock fuel and injector pumps on the dodge ram 5.9. I read that the stock pumps will definitely fail and once replaced they will be fine forever, if you go to a different pump other than OEM. Should I replace my pump(s) now and avoid later issues? What are the best replacements? I also read the transmission, automatic, should/will need replacing? Which one and with what or rebuilt by who. Thanks
Question Asked: Why would I loose my power steering and power brakes at same time?
March 08, 2014, 12:23 PM
Started truck this morning, got the power steering whine as usual when very cold out. Went to store, no problem, came out started right up, no whine but no power steering or brakes. Whine started back in a block or so and so did the brakes and power steering. Whine normally goes away after a couple mins warm up, did not go totally away after brakes and steering came back. New belt approx. 1000 miles ago. Belt not wet or oily so shouldn't be slipping.
Question Asked: Diesel smoking more than usual at start up.
February 13, 2014, 06:39 AM
at start up smoking more that usual, very cold "wait light" had of course went out but check engine light came on until started. Do I have a glow plug bad possibly? Check engine light always comes on with others as usual when you turn the key on but stayed on when others went out, until truck started.
Question Asked: Why does my truck "lunge" at stop lights?
January 27, 2014, 03:14 PM
My truck always "lunges" at a stop light/sign. It feels like someone has bumped me in the rear or the truck just wants to go. The motor does not rev and it only does it for a second but can "wake you up" if your not expecting it. Never had any other vehicle do this.
Car Review: 2002 Dodge Ram 2500

Truck only has 54000 miles on it. Only problems, so far, is the Abs pump ran all the time until I pulled the fuse and the four wheel drive light does not come on when in 4 wheel. Garage kept so no cracks in dash board or any rust issues. Love my truck, does seem to shift late and hard at times. Tends to want to lunge while at stop light, feels like someone bumped me in the rear. Don't know if that's usual with the Diesel or what? Diesel was 75 cents a gallon cheaper than gas when I bought it. Don't think I would buy another.
