Question Asked:

As of about 3 weeks ago my 1993 Ford Escort started making a thumping sound whenever I drive it. It feels like something is stuck on one of the tires, but there is nothing at all on my tires. It is stronger on the driver side. Has anyone ever had this happen to them, and if so---what did you do to correct the problem? Thanks in advance-----------MV

Question Answered:

If you hear nothing at all, it could be that the wires are not connected, or broken. See if all of the connectors are attached. Also-----------check your fuse(s). Make sure that there are no loose hanging wires. You might need to do a circuit (wire) trace from the heating unit. YOu have to see if the wire cuts off somewhere, and that the connector contacts are touching. You will also need an Ohm/Volt/Amp meter.

Question Asked:

My 1993 ESCORT has the "Check Engine" light come on. It will come on about 5 or 10 minutes into driving---stay on for about 10-15 minutes then go off for about 5-10 minutes, and then come on again. It will keep this routine for as long as I am driving. I changed my oxygen sensor about a year ago, so I don't think it is that. Is there anyone out there who tell me what might be causing this problem? I think that the catalytic converter needs to be changed. Did anyone else have this problem, and if so---what did you do to correct it? Thanks-MV
