I posted before about back up lights not working on my wagon. Here's what I done:Check both bulbs-they look ok,but replaced them anyway.Checked fuse under dash-looks ok.Replaced transmission shifter sensor on top of transmission(another name for a neutral safety switch I believe). Still no back up lights.Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I'd like to put a new seat belt assembly on the driver's seat(weak retractor) Does the cover on the center pillar merely snap in? Thanks.
Could be clogged heater core or faulty thermostat. I had a similar condition on my 2002-it was the thermostat.A code is usually present for this condition.
Bulbs look good.Fuse looks good.I assume the culprit must be the neutral safety switch, which I believe sits on the top of the transmission.Easy enough to change?or thoughts otherwise? Thanks in advance.
I hear the motor running as it should, but the mast remains up. Need I remove the unit from the car to replace a mast with a bad cable? If so,does it remove from the wheelwell or from inside the car.Thank you.
You may have a defective overflow tank.
Car is actually an 86 Parisienne, but no category here.Heater core is not clogged.Zero heat in car.Am I correct that the next possible faulty item is the vacuum controlled valve at one end of a heater hose? One hose hot, one hose cold. Thanks.
No filter-could be defective rebuilt pump.
Driver's door switch or the fuse?
What is the procedure to reset diagnostic engine codes? Thank you.
Basically, you have to remove the brake components, the nut from the end of the shaft, the nut from the lower ball joint, separate the lower control arm from the spindle, swing the spindle out of the way, and the shaft will pull out from the transmission....Better to pay someone to do it.
You might have bad fan motors,or relays for same.
The only other thing would be a seized wheel bearing.
I just figured this out for my 02 Taurus.Remove the 8mm bolt at the front inner corner.Pull out the two black metal vertical straps at the rear of the assembly.A little wiggling and the assembly will pull away.
Mine are well oxidized, pitted, and hazed.I'd like to replace them. I see only one 8mm attachment bolt at the front and two vertical steel straps. Is there another attachment point? Thank you. Update: I see that the two vertical straps at the rear, are also retainers.Easy enough to remove the assembly-I also note that cheap replacements are available on ebay.
I see a serpentine type belt under a cover on the right side of the motor. Purpose?(appears cams are chaindriven on the left side) I think that PM would indicate replacement-my car has 148K on it and I want to keep it going strong.
Does the axle shaft have to come out so the the mounting channel of the mount can slide back off of the frame? Not enough clearance after I raise the engine to rmove the mount.Other option appears to be remove the bracket on the block so I can lift the mount upward off the frame.Thanks.
The plastic intake manifold on the top of the motor has to come off.Sounds daunting, but it isn't too bad.Disconnect from throttle body, then a number of bolts on top of it.Lift off, swing out of the way.
Mine is broken, due to severe rust.To replace,it appears that mounting bracket has to be slid to rear, but drive axle limits it.Does the axle have to be removed? or upper engine bracket in order to get clearance.Thank you.
