Question Asked:

The third time,I found there was a freeze plug in the oil galley with a smaal oiling whole drilled through it,this time i replaced the chain, tentioner and the oiling bore, noticing whith compressed air applied to the port,it would exit around the front main bearing, showing the passage wasnt plugged, have ran the car 300 miles and it now has the sound as if it is loose again,I didnt soak the chain in oil this time before assembly.should i drill the whole slightly larger?

Question Answered:

As far as i know, mismatched tires wouldnt destroy thr transmition, however having mismathched tires from front to resr will give a gear ratio difference from front to rear, putting your transfer case in a bind.

Question Asked:

This is the new body style,I changed the front diff. input yoke, and was told what to do,then they said just put the nut on the same amount of turns, this was done 20.000 miles ago,i I kept on storage for pulling our trailers, now I am driving as an every day driver, mainly highway, ever since this was done, there has been a noise, like a wheel bearing noise, hard R/H-L/H make this noise come and go,how ever, when you engage the four wheel drive, the noise gets intense,I removed the front drive shaft, was told it should be 5 inch pounds to just turn it free wheel,no one i new had an inch pound tork wrench that went that low,so I backed the nut off, tightened littlr by little till the flat washer was helt snug, then went another 1/16 turn, now it is 80% bettter, should I back this off some more,or am I chasing a goast, thanyou, any info. would help.

Question Asked:

bought the car with 146000 miles, oil looked filthy, air filter was shot to,ran oil with a quart of trans fluid for a 1000 miles, then chaned oil/filter.Had a ticking noise from the timing chain.R/R timing chain, tentioner, etc.Again aroung 8000 miles, same noise,R/R all items again, now another 8000 miles highway, same noise, there is a freez plug behind the cam gear with a pin whole in it,as if it sprays oil from it,forced a small bit through it,when the noise first developed back, ran with another quart of trans fluid in it,1000 miles, then changed the oil/filter.am i missing something?
