Question Asked:

My car stopped running and had to have it towed to family mechanic. Mechanic said I will have to replace entire engine because there was oil/water contaminating the entire engine. I never received a warning from car nor did I experience any trouble before this incident. Am I really looking at a $5000.00+ repair bill? Mechanic took engine apart and my guess is waiting to see if it will dry out and may be saved...he said it did overheat causing oil/water to spill into engine. The car was warmed up for 15 mins before I drove to the corner of my block and it just conked out and I noticed grayish smoke coming from the exhaust. I'm very upset as this is a very expensive first time repair for me and I surprising inasmuch as I don't drive it much and I purchased it used w/approx 58K miles and have 63K miles. Please advise. thank you
