Swap the wires out in the switch on the dash, confirm problem.
If you have a garage or four people to help, it's easier to take the bed off. The "quick" disconnects on top of the tank can be a real problem to get lose from the bottom side. The bed can be easily picked up by the four corners, there are six nuts holding the bed down and two little plugs for the tail lights. Ropes in the garage are easy. Drive the truck forward enough to get to the tanks from the top.

Generating p0171 and p0174 on a 4.9l. Idles perfectly cold fast, hot 650, smooth. No misses, no spark knock, no backfires. Checked fuel pressure, 45 psi full vacuum, 55 psi no vacuum. Replaced MAF : ( no change. If my Mother of 81 years old would drive it, there would be no complaints, and she is very picky, just not heavy footed. It was running PERFECTLY one minute the next the check eng light on, and didn't notice a problem until the next big up hill, no power. HELP
