when i shift from 4th to 5th i hear and feel a gear clash noise for a split second.i was told it was my sychronizer.i dont dobt it.can i continue driving with no probs or will this prob eventually start affecting my other gears to?i never use 5th gear anyways so replacing thr 5th gear synchro i decided not to.i've noticed lately it isn't shifting quickly between all gears.feels kinda sloppy.quick shifting during drag racing is outta the question because going into third quick it always jams cause the shifter wants to take ya towards first.is this just because of a generic factory designed part or do these cars have something needing adjustment on the shifter linkage to take out this slop?
could this be caused by high speed cornering.car steers straight and responsive steering.doesnt roadwalk or anything.some say a tie rods could be bad.or because under hard cornering the tires lean from body roll.should i instal a strut bar brace to see if this helps.its a stock v6 mustang so no doubt its suspension is lacking compared to a gt.
when my car is idling or decelerating with clutch engaged.i heard a loud rattling from inside my exhaust.it sounds as if theres gravel lying in my catalytic converter and bouncing around when you rev engine.heat sheilds are removed.also the tone of my car sounds muffled and wrong compared to the good sounding growl it had before.i have also noticed engine power is a bit sluggish and gas mileage has dropped probly 5 miles per gallon.it has duals into an h pipe that connect to a single tailpipe.everyone is telling me a baffle inside my cats could be broke loose and turned, thereby rattling and making sound muffled.also the exhaust gases are backing up causing poor performance and lower mileage.could this diagnosis be correct?
i hear a dull thump thump or almost a clunk or low tone pop noise while shifting through the gears.it kinda reminds me of the sound of a bad engine mount.like the engine is slightly lifting as the torque is applied through acceleration, then when clutch pedals depressed the torques gone and lets motor drop back down.it kinda feels like it may be inside trans though.could something in clutch assembly make this noise.
odometer shuts off sometimes.only visible at night, but very very dim.radio also does this sometimes.only on off button works on it.
