check if the ABS light is also on, whenever the ABS is disable the traction control turns off, most of the time is the front wheels sensors they become unpluged.
of you are junking it most likely the gas tank has to puncture before they buy it, how ever you will need sharp center point chisel and a brass hammer or steel if you only have to hit it once, the safety is a ball that wont let you put a hose in at the neck of the tank
you will not only need a rod,for this reapair you will need the bearings, pistons, pins, rods and probably a new or reman crankshaft, or just replace what is broken and drive ther car for a few more miles
is your check engine ligh on, if so the codes should tell you wich part is not working, as far as the afm try cleaning ir first (must use the right spray) and your vvti usually is from the use of poor quality oil, remove the valve and clean it be careful when pulling it out, flush the engine first and replace with the right oil grade, use the lowest possible for your area as you should adjust the oil weight with maliage and temperature, no special tools needed or reprograming
it is the blend door as ZeeTech said, how ever if you take the covers off the botton you should be able to see the servo motors, with the air running and some one controling you should be able to id the one that is not working, most of the time they are just stuck and need the gears greased, they are easy to replace and dont need many or specialty tools.
these are your temperature sensors for the fan, ecu and gauge, they are all neede for the computer to run the engine properly, also the termosthat not only regulates temperature but also regulates coolant flow trough out the block, head, heater core, do not take it out as it will only make the overheating worst.
bleed the system out air and find and clean the sensor
engine must be cold and use high quality tools, spray some PB blaster a few hours before atempting to remove won't hurt
check the flex couplings first, these are the rubber plates that connect your drive shaft in different places, they are wearout items and need replaced sooner than your clutch
this vihicle had two temperature sensors one for the gauge and one to the computer, if your car runs fine when first started but not once is warm then it is a good chance is the sensor for the ecu, it controls the amount of gas to be injected when cold or hot when is cold it need more and if it does not change the amount when hot it will missfire, smoke, or dont run. Have the ecu scaned first, before any more repairs good luck with your repair
