Question Asked: Do you know where ignition control module is located?
March 28, 2012, 07:22 PM
I've been told on distributor.. doesn't have one. Been told on radiator support- not there ?? any ideas? Not sure if that's my problem anyway. Runs great but sometimes when run alot it "chugs" and sounds like going to die after i start back up then after 20 seconds or so idle speed comes back up and runs perfect again. Never goes at cold start. No check engine codes. Tuned up good. Changed fuel pump still didn't fix ???

Take to your local Autozone and they can check light for free. Could be as simple as loose or defective fuel cap. They'll give you good idea where to start.

Question Answered: do u know how to replace a transmission relay & if so could u give me directions
March 26, 2012, 11:42 AM
Should not have relay at all. Sounds like problems with your neutral safety switch.
Question Answered: would a temp sensor make the transmission slip and cause it to not shift properl
March 26, 2012, 11:39 AM
Coolant temperature sensor does help control some torque converter and shift point. It's inexpensive part would give a shot. Part also helps computer control some fuel injection, timing and egr functions. When part malfunctions should put up a check engine light- have checked at Autozone if so. If not change your fluid and hope for best.

If has check engine light on that may give you answer. Take to your local Autozone for free check if on. If not, change your fuel filter if haven't in last year and check fuel pressure.
Question Answered: How do I replace the serpentine belt tensioner?
March 26, 2012, 11:29 AM
Loosen and take off belt at tensioner first. Should be simple- only one bolt holding it. Note some tensioner bolts turn opposite of normal loosening.
Question Answered: 1993 Toyota Camry. Smell gas fumes, no leaks seen. Gas Mileage seems low.

You may want to check out evaporative emissions system. Start with fuel cap, check out purge valve and hoses that run from tank to canister and intake. Gas milage will go way down if leaking vapors.

Car Review: 2006 Ford Fusion
March 19, 2012, 11:00 AM
Have owned my 2006 Ford Fusion with V6- Aisin F21 6 speed transmission since new. Taken very good care of it- now less than 64K miles. 2 months ago had issue with hard shift and "bucking" from take off. Only happened like 2 times, my wife explained to me that felt like computer didn't know what gear to go into. Nevertheless, changed transmission fluid even though owners manual didn't suggest until 100k. Thought it fixed but then other day happened again. Been looking online last couple days and been reading up on other stories and TSB reports. Sounds like problem is either with a TCM reflash for update- which i read vehicles built before 9/4/2006 (mine is 10/2005) or with a faulty Valve Body which in my case hope not due to $1400 cost plus install. Well not sure at this point what fix will be but just dropped my car off at Ford dealer for TCM reflash and hoping this $118 fixes my problem. Service advisor checked my car and did have old software so hoping at this point this corrects problem! I'll give an update at later date with my results which hopefully will help someone else that runs into this problem. Have read alot of horror stories from many individuals but my experience had been very positive with my car. Until now never faced any mechanical problems. During my full warranty period only had to return for service right before warranty ran out to replace both rear door handles that had broken. I can't even put into words how much the information I've read lately on this problem has really helped me decide on what direction to move in. My first reaction was got to trade in and get out from under a huge potential problem but then would be facing many more years of payments (got 11 more payments). I've loved my car and didn't want to have to do that but would if i had to. The information I've received gave me a very positive outlook on fixing my car so i can keep as i'd planned for many years. Ok well hopefully this will give someone else hope and I'll update in couple months with my results. Will update sooner if problem happens again. Update: 3-26-12 NO PROBLEMS YET. HOPING FLASHING WORKED. BEEN THINKING ALOT TOO OF HOW MY WIFE DRIVES CAR LOL I'VE NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM MYSELF AND WONDER IF HOW SHE DRIVES. I'VE ONLY BEEN DRIVING IT AND ALL GOOD AT THIS POINT.
