I have a 02 Ford Explorer that has went out on me. It was making a loud rattling noise one day, so I parked it. The next tine I went to crank it it wouldn't crank. I assumed it was the battery. So we had it charged then it crunk. The noise had stopped. Maybe a week later it started again but this time it cut off on me in the road. Took it home now it wont crank at all. Battery is fine, has gas. Im wondering the mechanic said it may have jumped timing. Can a bad timing cassette cause my truck to stop completely. If so, what can be done other than replacing the motor.
