95 suburban reaches operating temp.(200)and then drops down to 180 while driving, but creep back to 200. The bottom radiator hose is cold while all the other hoses are hot. I checked the oil to see if there was anti-freeze or anything else. Dropped some oil on the hot manifold and it smoked(good sign). I also have very light gray smoke coming from the exhaust, but goes away once truck reaches operating temp. I have no hesitation nor does it stumble when i hit the gas to go. I have changed out the spark plugs and wires,rebuilt the TBI, replaced the injectors and regulator,the coolant sensor near the thermostat, replaced the heater core and flushed the coolant system and not I'm stumped trying to figure out what is causing my temp. gauge to fluctuate, or is this normal for this old truck saying she old?
I have a 5.7 V-8 4x4 with 208000 miles.No check engine light. It started to idle rough and the exhaust started to smell like gas. It would cut of when coming to a stop but would re-start. I pulled one spark plug and it smelled of gas. I replaced the spark plugs and wires, the distributor cap was good. I changed out the engine coolant temp. sensor. Now i have a good idle but i still smell gas out the exhaust.why do I still smell gas coming out exhaust? do I have an injector or fuel regulator problem?
changed oil and two days late checked it and on the dip stick I have a caramel milky substance that mixed with my oil. once the truck warms up the exhaust changes to a light gray...do I have a blown gasket?
Start up truck and I hear a squeaking noise from the engine compartment. When truck reaches operating temp. the squeaking stops. While squeaking when driving; as I come to a stop the squeaking stops, but when accelerating it comes back, but leaves when reaches operating temp.
I have a 1990 De ville and the a/c unit needs to be recharged.The system runs but no hot air comes from the vents. I have no leaks. last year the heat worked fine with the exception that it wasn't very hot. Now I have no heat only cold air. Fuse(s) are good and I don't have a clue as to what's the matter, could someone assist me in getting heat?
Got code e-49...cleaned throttle body and checked the hoses from the egr valves no leaks. car ran good for two months. now the problem is back.checked codes and e-49 came up again. I cleared the codes and got0.9.0 then 7.0..now when I drive it seems like I have the cruise control on. it will hold the speed of 30mph and i don't even have my foot on the gas. should i replace the diverter valve and the egr valve?
I have no codes flashing nor a check or service light on.while in park i can press the gas and I hear no ticking sound coming from the engine.when I put it in drive and press the gas pedal I hear a clicking noise as I accelerate. just turning the wheels left and right I hear no clicking noise(in park).only when I give it gas in drive that i will hear this clicking noise. what is causing this?
replaced the coil,module,rotor,distributor,wireset,spark plugs; however,the reading on the volt meter drops from 13.5 to 13 volts and the car starts to run sluggish.also the daytime running lights drains the battery so I keep them off. Is my voltage reg.going bad? I can wait an hr and the volt meter is back to 13.5, but ten mins of driving it drops again.
