it is usually held on with 2-4 screws, REMOVE AIR FILTER ASSEMBLY FIRST: (DIRECTIONS CALL FOR REMOVING FULL THROTTLE BODY.-I DIDNT NEED TO)remove the screws pull out and unplug harness. make sure original o-ring is removed as well. slide new IAC into opening on throttle body and tighten down. replug your harness. I have a '97 eclipse and mine was located right below the TPS( Throttle body Postition Sensor) It was fairly easy. 2-10 difficulty.
I tripped a bunch of codes on the OBD P0301-P0304 ALL CYLINDERS MISFIRED AND THE IAC TRIPPED AS WELL. On my way to work earlier i noticed that when in neutral the car began reving extremely high on its own and i had to shift into 4th to bring it down then when in neutral moments later it did it again. when i got out of work the car would not start and when it did would not hold idle i had to give it constant gas. i have already replaced the IAC and it idles now but it also SKYROCKETS to 4k-5k while idling and i have to turn the engine off
When driving my car for an long period of time the CHECK ENGINE light will come on. The car will continue running fine while constant throttle is given. as soon as it sits in idle the RPM's begin to drop and the lights begin to dim until it shuts off. Most of the time the car will start right back up. Also when starting the car all the electircal goes out i pull the key out and try it again and it will start up. where should i start looking for a problem?
