I just replaced the engine on my 95 celica. I noticed the that the r.p.m.s are at 1100 when the car is in neutral. The previous engine idle speed was set at 1000 r.p.m.s
check your "strut mounts" They usually need to be replaced also.
Try a full tune up
I just replaced the engine on my 95 celica I have a 2.2 ltr. Got a reman engine for 2100. and the dealership is doing the install for an additional 1664. the only reason I went all out is because I have invested alot of money and time in my car. You could go with a used engine, but you don't really know how well the engine was maintained. I had to kick out an extra 300. because my block was penetrated therefor deamed not rebuildable,
I am replacing my engine and the new engine comes the an oil cooler. My oringinal engine did not have this feature
1995 2.2 lter engine looking to verify that my engine has or not a knock sensor
puchased a reman engine for my 95' celica. engine block is from '97 camry. manufacturer says the camry block is identical to the celica. Hes telling me to have holes drilled into the block because the bracket for the c.v. axles does not line up =(
I drove about 400 miles at a high rate of speed b4 I noticed the oil plug was loose.
when I'm driving the car about 40 mph there is a vibration at 1700 rpms. after I pass the 1700 rpms it will stop until I slow down again and the car reaches 1700 rpms
oil was chg & I drove about 400 miles. The next day I realized the oil plug was not tight. Car threw a rod less than 3000 miles later
I have a 2.2 ltr engine. under the hood it says california emissions., but the engine builder says there would be a "breather tube" in between the 2nd and 3rd fuel injector
I have a celica, which up until now was in perfect condition I let firestone change my oil. Only they forgot to tighten the oil plug. I drove 400 miles b4 I realized it. Car was acting weird. I returned to the shop, they added oil and tightend the plug. I left the shop by the time I got home the car had a knock sound but it stopped later. About 4000 miles later threw a rod due to "isolated bearing failiure". I am wondering if 1 piston can shatter or do all have to break?
