Intermittent issue. At times, takes three or four turns (cranks) for vehicle to start. Took it to an Acura shop, and since the vehicle started immediately, wouldn't duplicate the issue, the shop didn't know what the problem was.
My son's 2006 Acura MDX has been in shop for 5 weeks. Mechanic admits he can't fix it. Front cat converter replaced, and cam sensor replaced twice. Plugs replaced. Says vehicle runs, but is in "limbo," second gear. Thought it might be a timing issue. Any ideas? Don't want to keep wasting money with this mechanic.
Engine was replaced in July 2014 with 137,000 miles. Replaced engine has 89K. Shop owner cannot find source of why engine runs rough with new rear cat converter. Should I have it towed to an Acura dealer? Thanks for any kind of help. Need my car.
I am out of town and the emission control message came up on dashboard. Called the local Acura dealer. Tech said the P0420 code is usually for catalytic converter. Sounds expensive. Can I keep driving the vehicle without doing any damage to engine or fuel systems?
An automotive technician told me that on an AWD vehicle, you should replace all four tires, not just two at a time, as needed. Is this true?
Thinking of purchasing a 2008 Acura MDX w/Tech package. Reviewed the free Carfax report. In 5 years and 4 months since vehicle was purchased new, the battery has been replaced 4 times, the starter once, and the battery/charging system has been checked four times also. What could be the problem?
I have a 2005 Nissan Altima that has been through 7 winters. The undercarriage has a lot of rust, which has resulted in repair bills this year. Will the rust continue to get worse, since I now have the car in a warm weather state, or will it go into remission?
When I fill up with gas, the gauge only registers half full, but the tank is full. The dte shows 310 miles, but the gauge reads about half a tank left. This problem was intermittent, but with the last month it has gotten to be a regular weekly issue.
