key is inserted), dash lights are on. Removed cylinder and put key in hole and car started then key would not turn it off. When replacing same cylinder it still would not start. Does anyone know if it is the cylinder (ignition) lock or something in the steering column.
I have a 1996 Sable that for the past year, I have had to drive at 30 miles per hour for the a/c to be cold otherwise it's warm. After driving for an hour to the airport at 75-80 mph, I started my car to go home an it was making a serious noise. I added a quart of oil and very little anti-freeze and as I was driving home the noise stopped. I continued the 1 hour drive home (no noise) and the noise started as soon as I got off the freeway and down to 35 mph. We thought it was the water pump, but it never got hot. So now we think it is the a/c compressor or condensor or ???? Does anyone have any ideas? The a/c unit is EXPENSIVE!!! Before this happened it came up with error codes: P1507, P1504,& P0401 1) idle air control underspeed 2) idle air control circuit Could any of these be the problem? PLEASE HELP!!!!
