check to see if the dimmer is adjusted all the way down. if not it could be a faulty head lamp switch.
your problem may be that the starter motor is bad. to test this you will need some help and a test light. there will be two wires that attach to the starter motor solienoid. the large one should have power all the time and the small one will have power just when the key is held in the crank position. if you have both of those it is a good chance that the motor has failed. use a volt meter to be shure that you have 12 volts poor connections at the battery . can also cause a simular problem.
this may be caused by a alarm problem, try locking and unlocking the car from the drivers door and the pasenger door. also if ther is a key fob also try that.
you might have your charging system checked for an over charge. this is one causes.
above the oil filter behind the water pump housing. sorry rechecked location. it is located in the sensor housing on the driversside of engine.
in some caces the spark plug boot will melt to the spark plug and make this verry diffacult. try turning the boot on the plug back and forth. last resut is to cut the boot off and continue with new plug wires.when reinstalling put some dielectric grease in the boot this will help for the next maint. repair . some spark plug wire sets will come with a small ammount of grease. if not ask your part supplier for help.
a question for you is how much water are we talking about. if you have driven in a large puddle or a flooded road? check for water entering the air filter. if it is soaked you might remove the spark plugs and make shure that the engine has not been stoped by water .This could cause engine damage.
check all fuses see if one is open/bad
if the drains for the window cowling are pluged, you could get water backing up and running back through the heater inlet. look down in the vent area in front of the window. check for standing water. clean anny debris out of that area to help prevent blockage of drains. if you pour water on the glass it should runnout the drain behind the front tire were the fender an cab meet. hope that helps.
If the water pump was timing belt driven, recheck the timing it may have sliped a tooth. also check for anny electrical connectors that may have been distubed while repairing the water pump, may have been disconnected and did not get fully seated,or not yet installed.
My father just purchased a 2500 hd base modle, that had come w/o cruse control. Is it posable to instal cruse control with factory parts and if so will the pcm need to be reflashed? thank you for your help.
