Does it shift into gear with the engine off? if not, you have a problem with your transmission...if it does, you have a problem with your hydraulics...and I would recommend you replace both the master and slave cylinders.
yes you can change them
These parts costs $70-90 here in North California. Labor to replace this part is one and a half hour. Shops generally charge $90 per hour so you are looking at $205-225 total if you use your own parts.
is this for the front or rear? if the other (front or rear) does not light either, you have a problem at the combination switch...if the other (front or rear) flashes rapidly, check for power and ground at the problem socket.
How are you charging it? if you are charging it right, maybe the low pressure switch is inoperative.
STILL wont start with a new battery!? You need to find out if there is high resistance on those battery cables or terminals. If that is solid, then check for alternator output and battery drain.
Nissan does not specify a brake fluid change interval...but european manufacturers do...and they change it every TWO years, dictated by the manufacturing date.
Did your wife drift left over the deer? I doubt it. Take the panel off and find out if there is power going to the power window motor when you switch it...if there is no power = bad switch...if there is power = bad motor.
The shop should have either cleared the code after repair and informed you that monitors had to be reset by following the jeeps drive-cycle and procedures OR should have cleared the code and checked if it was within pass/fail parameters for an evap test.
a junkyard or wrecking yard is your best bet, those parts are quickly obslete. if you are lucky, maybe you will find a shop that purchased a "fuel line kit" and have them make one for you...at a price.
