I have built, repaired and tested GM automatic front & rear drive transmissions for 31 years. I am currently retired, but drive a school bus and keep in touch with the current generation.

It's just letting you know within 250 KM (120 miles) that 30,000 mile service should be performed if you have the owner's manual. If not, just contact your local Chrysler dealer.

Do you have any aftermarket stereos, anti-theft or GPS units installed?

Question Answered:

I'm assuming you don't use the cruise under 30 MPH...and don't rest your foot on the brake pedal. Your problem may be in the brake light switch circuit. Have the switch checked behind the brake pedal. (This may sound odd, but on the HHR's if more than 2 of the five high mounted rear brake lights are out, the cruise will act up.) Clare
