The rocker panel under the sliding door on my '01 Venture has been rusting, to the extent that there is now already a 2-inch hole. I scooped out about a pound of rust from inside the panel! What is the best way to deal with this? Is there some way to apply a seal or coating to prevent it from getting worse? Thanks.
Recently, I have been hearing a squealing kind of noise when starting the engine. It seems to happen only when the engine is cold. The oil level is fine. What could it be? Thanks.
I am having difficulty replacing the air filter on my Venture. Apparently it is necessary to remove the flexible air intake duct, but I can't get it off! Which direction should it be pushed in order to remove it? Thanks.
The 1/4" air hoses attached to the Automatic Level Control compressor on my Venture have fallen apart. I managed to get new hoses, but the upper connection is inaccessible without removing the entire unit (which is difficult due to rust etc.). From what I can tell, the upper connection is just the pressure release solenoid, so it shouldn't really make a difference if I just left it the way it is. Is this correct? Thank you very much.
I noticed that the rubber/silicone intake tubes connected to the Automatic Level Control compressor have cracked, and are now dangling down. Unfortunately I cannot locate replacements for them. Is it an option to just use regular generic rubber tubing, or is there some other source that I'm not aware of? Thanks.
My engine makes pinging noises when under load, e.g. going up a hill, or accelerating hard. I am not getting any DTC's, so presumably the EGR and knock sensor are working. What course of action should I take to resolve this problem? Thanks.
Hi, the power seat switch is not working, and I'm looking for a way to manually connect the proper contacts to operate the motor. A wiring diagram would also help. Thanks!
Hi, I am planning on replacing the EGR valve on my Venture. The part came with instructions to clean the intake manifold before intalling the valve, to prevent repeated failures. How do I go about doing this? With a vaccum, or by scraping with a screwdriver, or some other method? Thanks!
I am getting a DTC code indicating that the EGR valve is stuck in the open position. My understanding is that this is often caused by carbon deposits. The question is, can I spray some carb cleaner etc. into the inlet, to dissolve the carbon without having to remove the whole thing? Thanks.
