Wilkes Barre, PA

I am a 34 year old car enthusiast from northeastern PA. I used to spend my time building imports and touring the east coast shhow circuit. I have owned two Honda Civics, a '94 Accord 5-spd., a '96 Prelude(a true beauty), and an '89 Nissan NX. I have worked in the Auto Warranty business both as a salesman and a Manager of a Claims Department. These days I have settled down a bit and have taken time away from the show circuit to live a somewhat normall life. Who knows how long that will last. My two most prized vehicles in the past were a 2001 Acura CL Type-S, and a 2005 Mazda MP5, both loaded! I also had the pleasure of owning both a '99 Mitsubishi Galant and an '89 BMW 325 convertible(white with black & blue leather interior). Nowadays I'm content to take a long summer ride on my Ninja sportbike.

Question Asked:

My 1998 Ford Escort ZX2 has recently developed a problem when idling. The vehicle starts right up, but then the idle hovers just below 1,000 RPMs and is very choppy. It will actually stall on occasion. Has anyone else run into this problem, and, if so, what turned out to be the problem? More importantly, what did you do to repair the problem? I should also mention that the AC fan will not work on any setting. Whether it be the vent, the AC or even the defroster, the fan simply will not kick on. Hopefully someone out there can help me with this problem. I would really appreciate any input any of you could offer. Other than this the vehicle runs great and I have had no other problems thus far. Thank you for your time.
