 Rookie

My front headlights are dead. My high beams don't work. I checked all the fuses and they are okay. I took it to the repair shop and they turned them on for a second and then they died. Do I need to replace the turn signal because it has a short? What else could the problem be and what will it cost to repair the problem? Also, my stick shift lights are dead and my odometer has no lights? What would cause this? Is this something I can repair myself? Where can I get schematics on these issues? Thanks!
