I want to purchase an air filter and I'm not sure of what type and size.

    the oem part number is 13721730946 and has a list price of
    $30.47 from BMW. you may find them somewhere in the aftermarket, but anything other than those made by MANN or
    HENGST simply will not fit your car. never ever install a
    K&N filter, it will ruin your air mass sensor. replace the a/c cabin filter at the same time as the air filter.
