type of coolant used in a 2009 Ford Edge -
Answer 1
Motorcraft® Premium Gold Engine Coolant VC-7-B (US); CVC-7-B (Canada); or equivalent WSS-M97B51-A1 11.1L (11.7 qt) Vehicle equipped w/trailer tow option 12.1L (12.7 qt) -
Answer 2
You don't have to use that type of coolant. You can by a universal coolant from a parts house. -
Answer 3
Just an opinion - why not buy the right coolant for fractionally more money if it's what is best for the vehicle? At some point, you get what you pay for... Other companies probably market coolant that has the same specifications, so that is acceptable. But I would rather protect my components with the proper coolant rather than save a couple of dollars. -
