The automatic suspension failed several times until one time while driving the freeway, the suspension failed completely and I was forced to pull the car off the freeway and call a tow truck. My mechanic advised that I install regular shocks on the vehicle in order to circumvent any repetition of the initial problem. It cost me $400 to have this service performed and, to date, I never received a recall, or notification of the problem from Ford.
