I pull over at a rest stop open the trunk & can't get to close. Spent about an hour fumbling in the dark & cold butcould not get the lat h to close all the way. I can push it in with screwdriver but it unlatches with slight pressure. If I took off cover on backside of trunk is there a reset latch or could the whole asssembly be bent since I kept tryin to slam it? Sorry 4 long post but a fix, the cheaper the better, would save me big time. ~ Merry Xmas & thanks in advance

Either the latch is badly misadjusted or it could be worn out. Take a good look at how the striker and the latch meet up. If the latch won't close and stay closed with a screwdriver, it could be faulty. I had the same problem on my wife's Honda and called the parts department at the dealer and asked if the latches go bad much. They toild me they sell a lot of them and that's what it was.
