Trunk Lid Won't Close Due to Trunk Pull Down Switch Failure on Chevrolet Camaro

The trunk pull down switch may fail causing the trunk lid not to close completely. Our technicians tell us that the failed switch can be replaced without changing the complete pull down motor assembly.

trunk lid will not fully close due to the trunk pull down latch failing
total pain! First, my mechanic was able to make it close by physically opening the closed part. It workedfor awhile then it happened again. Again, it was physically opened and tested multiple times. I was sent on my way,very wary of using the trunk. Sure enough,it happened again. My mechanics couldn't find a new latch, as they are discontinues, as seems to be the case with every part I need :>( Eventually, I got a used assembly from a totaled vehicle. This whole ordeal was time consuming, anxiety producing, and expensive!
