Question: trunk latch

is it normal for the trunk latch to never lock? it closes but you can manually open it with your hand and it has a tendency not to stay open. you have to be very fast or you can get brained.

    When you lock the doors - either manually with the key or by the fob - the trunk should be locked too. With the door locks in the open position the trunk will be open also.

    I have the same problem. Merc dealer told me they fixed it and then it came back again. They claimed it was hydraulic system leak. Wish I knew the answer.
