In the driver's foot well area there is a fuse panel with a stud that you pull outward to apply 12 volts too. I think it has bright red plastic on it, its pretty obvious when you look at it, it is the only thing that pulls out about half an inch. You carefully apply 12 volts from a "jumper box" or jumper cables using power to the stud and ground to a good chassis ground. This allows you to press the button to open the hood (Ignition key on) to get access to the battery to then jump start the car/charge the battery.

I tried this but the hood still does not open. Is there any other alternative?
