I received the truck as a "gift" knowing I had to replace the springs and spring mounts. The truck runs GREAT The problem I am having is that the truck will not start on occassions. If I let it sit for a few hours it will start. Lately however the problem is worsening. Is this a fuel filter issue?

Superbob September 10, 2010, 14:46MasterDoes it crank and not start or not crank? If it cranks and won't start I suspect the fuel pump relay which should be in the relay box under the hood. It'd be interesting to know whether there's spark and/or fuel pressure when you have the problem...

I have noticed however that if the "check engine" light does not illuminate upon turning the ignition key, the truck wont start. However when the check engine light does illumintate the truck starts right up.

Enthusiastsounds like the electronic control module to me. In my experience the vehicle will start run a while then quit. Let it sit a while and it'll start back up and run a little longer
