Vacuum actuated, check for 'any' broken or disconnected vac hoses. The front axle actuator that is mounted on the front diff. has two hoses going to it also. The actuator may be defective but hoses more common problem. The 'most' common cause of this is the transfer case vacuum slector switch, NAPA part # 6002943. Mounted ot top of the transfer case itself. Within these componets, you'll find your trouble!!

Agree with pushrod. Follow the hoses, they are the usual culprit.

I kind of did that today, in the dark and 10" snow, so far everthing looks good, any chance it could be a relay module in the fuse box?
